Modern Mangusta looks more like a DeLorean

I have seen a lot of artists renditions of what a modern DeLorean would have possibly looked like and many of them are very nice, but have never really struck me as true to the DMC look and feel. I stumbled across a redesign of the De Tomaso Mangusta by design student Maxime de Keiser. While Maxime was trying to modernize the Mangusta, to me the design looks strikingly a lot like what I would imagine a modern day DeLorean might have looked like. When I saw the first picture my immediate thought was that someone was redesigning the DeLorean.

Don’t get me wrong, I see the Mangusta quite clearly, but I am amazed on how I also see the DeLorean quite clearly.

Anyway, thought I would share. Enjoy!

Speaking of Mangusta, I came across this video. This is the only Mangusta made with a Chevy engine. Worth a TON of money now!

    That car is f&#king hot.

The DeLorean resemblance is definitely there. If they squared up the headlights/taillights and changed the roof structure to accommodate gull wing doors it would be even better.

Photoshop challenge anyone? Make it look more DMC-ish?

The pantera, countach, and mangusta are 3 reasons why I wish I were 5'8" tall...

Very "concepty", but it definitely looks good and certainly resembles the original Mangusta. I LOVE Mangustas (one of my favorite cars), and I saw one in the summer at a local Italian car show.

Agree, add some cubism to the lights and it would look even hotter!!

    DeLorean 2.0 definitely. Nice find.

Photoshoppers, just take that first pic and replace the mangusta badge on the grille with our DMC one, and you are done.

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"
