    Very high idle---then OK

Started 2126 a few days ago---start OK, idle normal---at first red lite, idle was at about 2500 RPM---pulled over--throttle spool was returning to stop--no sticking--drove home at 2500 rpms---would not idle down---drove again today---everything now normal---good idle---any ideas?? Idle microswitch was closing when problem occured. Concerened this may happen again. Thanks for any comments.

Had this happen to another car I was working on. Turns out had a bad connection to one of the bulkhead connectors.

Agreed. Those bulkhead connectors have given me some grief as well. Unplug and replug each one to make sure that they seat nicely.

Also check the plug right on the idle motor. Sometimes the pins back out or get "green".
