Stupid Delorean Comment Of the Day

I was at the Scottish Car Show this weekend, and had place a barrier over the striker pins as such;

Mostly this was enough, but one chap lifted his kid over the barrier and was trying to sit him on the seat. I tapped him on the shoulder and said "Excuse me, but nobody is allowed in the car".

His response? "Well you should HAVE PUT UP A FUCKING SIGN!", then stormed off yanking his kid out the car and getting all red in the face.

Urgh, what an asshole. That one really pisses me off!

I could actually understand the dad not realize that the bar is there to stop entry. I think the black bar looks so good, it looks like it is part of the car. Other owners use a white PVC bar or a red/white colo(u)red bar which stands out, but does look kinda out of place.

See, I can understand that. A few people on the day actually asked how the doors closed with the bar in place, so I would give the chap the benefit of the doubt... if it wasn't for how angry he got at me when I was being very polite about the whole thing.

I have some of the black/yellow warning tape and will be applying that to the ends of the bar for a future show, just to be safe.

I don't know if I saw someone that had done this or just someone talking about it, but the idea was also to put some "caution" tape on it. Like the yellow and black stuff you see at construction sites.

Today I was parked talking to a friend and had one person ask if I had a FC, the other asked if I found any cocaine. I used someone else's line and said I found a bunch of coke...that's how I was able to afford the car.

Both people loved seeing it and nobody tried touching it....or me either, so that was good.

I received a letter from my township a few weeks ago that I was going to be fined due to major vehicle repair/disassembley in my driveway. Apparently a township worker drove past my house and saw the DeLorean in the the driveway and thought I was stripping the paint off the car. I caught the guy a few days later driving past my house again, looking down my driveway. I went out and told him off.
