October 1981
Last weekend at a gas station:
Him: Is that an Alfa Romeo?
The younger generation really don't have a clue what they're looking at. Makes me feel old.
Another gas station visit:
Him: What does it run on?
Me: (sensing sarcasm in his voice) - Plutonium
Him: No, does it run on regular 87 or 91 unleaded?
Me: Ah, sorry…
Turns out that not everyone is itching to make a BTTF comment. Oops.

I had a kid ask me last weekend during the St. Patrick's Day Parade if mine was a TESLA. I responded, "No, it's a DeLorean." To which they looked at their folks and said "what's that?"

A few weeks ago when the weather played the trailer for the summer, this mother and her son saw me at night in a parking lot. The mom asked me if I modified the doors to swing up instead of out.
On a different weekend but during the same preview, I was giving a ride around town to a friend's son. He had never seen BTTF so I gave him a summary. "That sounds like Rick and Morty".

If the above post was DeLorean related it should be noted that I don't know what I'm talking about.

I think that might be the winner of this entire thread.

I was on the phone with Geico and when I told her I had a delorean she said "what's that?" I still get shocked when people have never heard of the car. She had seen bttf though.

Okay, this must sound like a dumb question, and it may be an east coast thing, but how does the weather play a trailer for the summer?? I just have a hard time picturing that in my head. What does that even mean??

In the Midwest we had 70° weather for like a week in February. I think the week before was 60°s.

Rereading, I don't know why I phrased it like that.

Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech
I had a guy at a car show this past weekend ask me how hard it was to keep clean, while he was touching the stainless and getting fingerprints all over it.

In your original post, I had to read it twice, but once I got it, thought it was pretty clever.
