I was at a Sonic one night with the D and this old guy walks up to me and says "Nice Bricklin." I said "thank you but this is a DeLorean." He spends about ten minutes telling me that this is NOT a DeLorean but a Bricklin. So I take him to the back of the car, point to the rear bumper and ask him "what does this say???'' Then I take out the owners manual and point to the cover and ask the same question. Then I take him to the front grill, point to the emblem and ask the same question. But just in case he didnt get that one I say DMC as in DeLorean Motor Company. He just said "oh" and walked off
Before I started my Nova's restoration I used to get "Nice Falcon!" and I would argue with people over what the car was when it clearly said Nova on the quarter panels. I eventually got tired of it and would just respond with "thank you , I love my chevy falconova."
Yesterday I was in the autoparts parking lot leaving after ordering some parts for my daily. I knew parking on the highway facing side of the lot was probably a bad idea because I was tired and just wanted to get home. Unfortunately it was the only spot free. I came out when a beat up ford caprice pulled up next to me and a young kid jumped out and was practically running around the car. I opened the door and he asked if it was mine. His english was pretty bad but he tried to ask questions about the car and I tried my best to answer. Even though I just wanted to get home I was nice and even let him sit in the car. I must of been there for over 10 minutes. Today when I picked up my parts I took the Mustang. The guy behind the counter asked where the Delorean was with a smirk, then he said "you just didn't want to get stuck in the parking lot again did you?" I had to laugh and tell him yes, I didn't want as much attention today.

I went to the post office the other day and this guy and a girl come up. I guess he was trying to impress her because he said:
"Oh yeah, I used to have one of those - except mine was bronze-color!"
