That's what thermal detonators are for. Of course, that would land you in a place comparable to the rancor pit, it's called prision and instead of a rancor, you have to fend off Bubba.

What's more authoritative than the vin plate?

Is everybody supposed to put their car on a weighbridge before going to the DMV?

Today, I was working inside the car with the battery disconnected, so I had my lantern on the rear parcel shelf illuminating my work area. A girl came by to chat. She must have seen the lantern inside the car, because she said "I can see your flux capacitor." So I checked my zipper. She laughed.

I had that same problem in Hawaii. I had even brought in a Road and Track from 1981 saying what the weight was. She said it wouldn't work. So I had to take it to a big rig weigh in area to weigh the car. It was 12 pounds different from the Road and track article. After I brought back the paperwork stating the weight I asked her if she would like to log in the weight on the computer so the next poor sucker who has a Delorean doesn't have to go through what I did. She just shrugged and said no. Good ole Government in action.

Me: it's actually right on the VIN plate
    Her: that doesnt count
Me: Here it is on wikkipedia
    Her: That doesnt count either
Me: There's a DMC franchise in Seattle, can I get the manager on the phone for you?
Her: No, that doesnt count either.
Me: Does it bother you that your own bureaucracy makes your job so hard?
    Her: Yes

I wanted to F*%& scream. No wonder people hate the DMV world over.

The girl at the Burger King drive thru just said "Your car looks like the bat-mobile". Aside from having 4 wheels, I don't see the resemblance, but ok.
