I heard that John DeLorean's personal DeLorean was a gold plated example,

do you know if this is true?

There are only 3 known gold plated cars from the factory and JZDs wasn't one of them.

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

I believe the John DeLorean "personal gold DeLorean car" rumor/misinformation originated from the release of the 1:18th scale Sunstar gold DeLoreans. Same as that whole DeLorean "LK Coupe" nonsense. Somebody at Sunstar didn't have their facts correct, and their products ended up mislabeled/incorrectly marketed.
