DeLoreans on Display (AKA Museum DeLoreans)

Here is the latest revised list of cars that you might want to visit during this "off season" for many owners

As always, I'd appreciate any help in filling in the blanks. Any photos from visits would be welcome also

(A previous version had appeared here:

    thanks

For the longest time there was a DeLorean in the Cobb Galleria. There was a small-ish shop on the right as soon as you walked in that had a bunch of movie replica cars. The DeLorean was in the window.

I have no idea if it's still there though, but it'd be worth checking out.

    Just found this:

    http://eng.gg.go.kr/2477

Seems there is a DeLorean on display at the Samsung Transportation Museum in Seoul (Korea). According to the French DeLorean Clubsite it should be VIN#01985 ...

Don't know if it's in the list of museum DeLorean?

This one isn't on this list, and since it's closed down there really isn't any reason to bother with adding it.

Central Texas Museum of Automotive History.

Very sad that the collection was dissolved. The owner has created a new museum called Dick's Classic Garage. According to the woman who was working the register, about 20 more cars retained from the original collection are scheduled to be moved over. Don't know which they were so I've no idea if the DeLorean they had made it over or not since she said that not all of the vehicles were on display. However if I had to put money on it I'd say that it was sold off.

As for the new place, it does have some very interesting cars on display. Particularly the Queen of Diamonds Duesenburg (I fell in love with the paint color and will one day use it on a car), and perhaps the best Tucker display I've ever seen that included not only a car, but an advertising banner, owner's manual, other paperwork, and finally a spare engine on a stand for people to view. Absolutely spectacular.

Unfortunately while the museum builds up an impressive amount of past cars, it dead-ends in the 1950's. It was disappointing because not only did I want to see more, but then that was how the entire gift-shop was setup/themed.

I'll be in Tokyo in June, I should be able to get the Vin# for the Japanese Deloreans.

    Thanks Andy,

I read the SW forum but I wasn't sure if they were saying that it was VIN1985 or just a "late-VIN". Too co-incidental that a BTTF car would be VIN 1985. Pity he didn't get a picture of the vin-plate.

No, it wasn't on the list, but it is now.

There were at least two 50000 miles test cars. One was 514 and is now on display at Cultra. The other was D24 reg RIA7123, shown in many photos, but was destroyed by a fire apparently.

At least this is the accepted opinion on this from the guys at DOC who have researched this.

Of course I have never seen a pic of both cars together or of a reg plate of the second one. I assume the Cultra one doesn't have a plate.

Nick Sutton thought there might have been a third one also.
