Motors about after dark
Nahhh, this one's a stocker. I am going to give it a bit of a brownish tan wash though
If this one actually makes it to completion with no issues I'm doing a factory steel next as it will be much easier and no fascia painting or wheels. Just a quick regrain and on to detailing.
I still may light the hvac, radio and dash but I'm not sure it there is any more room. Just playing by ear with this build.

Could not be happier with the way the Metalizer paint turned out!

From now on I will post updates and pictures here since this really isn't the thread for a custom model and it chronicles the build from the very beginning. Should be done in a few more weeks.

And I read that a yellow and red version is in the works.

It could be nice if the silver could be available again...

I don't know if it has been mentioned in this thread, but from everything I have read, stainless is not coming back. Autoart said the plating process was too complex and they were scrapping 4 out of 5 bodies (which is why you saw the poorly done matt black cars, and now other colors). I used a matt black car for my project and they painted over all the previously painted gray fascias, the silver part of interior door panels, and silver wheels were redone in black which I had to sand down and redo.
There was one snippet about a silver version coming out with the colors, but not much info. If I had to guess, they are just going to use a silver paint. On my black car, I used 100 grit sand paper and really got some deep scratches in the body panels, then thin coats of a 3 part metalizer model paint system buffed to the correct sheen, then clear coated in semi dull clear sealer.

There is no mention whatsoever on Autoart's site about this but apparently someone is in the loop. A yellow, red, and apparently a stainless are all on preorder from at least one seller now, however the dates are past due. Not sure I would trust them until I heard definitive news from the horse's mouth,

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"
