Buying Tires
With it being harder to find matching sets of tires, would it be worth it to buy a matching set now if I was planning on replacing my tires within the next year? Basically, what I'm asking is how long can tires be stored for (climate controlled) before they are no good?

They say that 8 years from manufacture is the magic number. Check the manufacture date codes on the tires you are buying you may buy 4 year old tires, store them for a year (or two) and then only have two or three years of useful life left by the time you mount them.
Not a problem for DD's which could wear them out in that time, but a typical D is a low mileage car.

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

If you buy tires now, install them now.
If you plan on installing tires next year, buy them next year.
