Disconnect the injector from the fuel line and see if it "pisses".
If it does, it's the injector (clogged or stuck closed), if it doesn't it's the fuel distributor not performing as it should.
The latter can be caused for different reasons:
- No supply to the FD (check the feed line, CPR line to the FD)
- Stuck or clogged valve inside FD
- Bad PPR (primary pressure regulator)

Thanks for your help, Welmoed! Noted for sure. Thank goodness the problem wasn't a stuck/clogged valve inside the FD (or issue with the PPR for that matter).
I'm not saying this DID happen, but it's possible that last night I found the inertia switch was inadvertently triggered.
