Its worth pointing out that you need to visually inspect your parking brake pads first to:
1. Make sure they are even there.
2. The wear is even.
3. they haven't been "over adjusted"

THANKS for this! My parking brake quit working a few months after I bought my car and I have been waiting for something like this to give me the confidence to try to adjust it back to working.

Keep in mind, on some cars, you may not need to adjust both screws. Do one at a time, and try to get them roughly close to each other in terms of when they start grabbing.
