    I work on boats and there are quite a few gimbaled cup holders for the marine market. Most are white but there are also black and stainless variants. These aren't suction cupped either and can be mounted to the door.

    That looks like it would require drilling into the door, or wherever you plan to mount it.

    I am currently building a cupholder that retracts under the passenger knee pad. mounts to existing bolts under the dash, no damage to car is done. easy install and removal if need be.

    best location for cup holders.

    Move the window switches to the doors (the stock wiring is sufficient to do this). Then put a cup holders where the switches used to be.

    That is how the Iron Man Delorean is being built.
