    I thought it would be hilarious to make a holder with a gimbal which hung from the door.

    hmm, my wife's out tonight so I have some free time and a 3D printer...

    Already exists.. A saw a version somewhere that had a suction cup and gimbal... It was attached to the door window and worked perfectly. Might have been Facebook. I'll see if I can find it.

    I was thinking something less prone to pop like suction cups...maybe something that could attach to the panel....hmmm..now im gonna have to think about it....along with my vent baffle...and maybe a redesigned glove box insert
