    You're both technically right.

    Their woman.

I have to say I love the British accent on a girl. It's actually the only accent I like on a girl from a different country.

Try riding on a train with 3 teenage girls (Brits) yapping. Its the most annoying sound in the world.

    1) Frank Whittle independently invented the jet engine and was the first to patent it. Unlike the germans, he also actually made it work consistently and continuously.

    2) Britain comprises England, Scotland and Wales. The UK then includes Northern Ireland.

Also, even if the developer of penicillin was Scottish, I would think the credit for the discovery would go to whatever country under whose aegis {s}he was working, not to their original country of origin. But I don't know if that's a written "rule" or just a personal feeling.

My mentor. He got me through one helluva tough spot in my life, both professionally and personally. He's from Nottinghamshire. Though I'd never say it to him, (he'd never let me live it down, lol) he helped me a lot. Sorry for the derail.... back to the fun stuff!

I also like "Red Dwarf", "Are You Being Served?" and the original "Who's Line is it, Anyway?" And if we're including the Scots; "Chewin' the Fat" and "Still Game" are great shows too.
