    Clock Issues

    He everyone,

So, my clock has never kept accurate time. The end of each week, it'll always be 10-15 minutes ahead of real time. I know I have to adjust the capacitor behind the display; I just don't worry much about it. But then this happened...

My clock has STOPPED keeping time. It is stuck solid on 12:00 - and the ":" doesn't blink (cant remember if it ever did or not), and it does not change time at ALL. It has been noon in my car for a solid week :P.

It's not a huge issue, but does anyone know why it would all of a sudden do this? Just curious for fun and education's sake.

Actual snippet of a conversation from Sept 2013:

Me: Eddie, I can't wait to get the car back when you're done with it.

Eddie: Yeah, you'll be able to give the car gas, and it won't be - like - embarrassing....

Not sure about why the time would stop.

On a side note, I do recall on the .com site, someone a LONG time back posted about how you can actually adjust the speed of the clock by turning a screw inside the clock. I actually saved the post because it was such good info. Unfortunately I saved it to an external hard drive that has since bit the dust.

Does anyone remember this? My clock seems to pick up about 1 minute per week; obviously not terrible but still annoying.

EDIT: After reading your post again, is the capacitor adjustment the thing I'm talking about?

Are we talking the clock from were we're going, where we are or where we were?

    Sorry couldn't resist...

Much like another product of the 1980s (the VCR) the 12 o'clock issue can be solved with a little piece of black electrical tape.
