    Outdoor car cover

I posted the part numbers for the outdoor car covers I have used in my thread below.

I park my D outside daily as I have no garage or covered parking. The Weathershield and Noah Fabric car covers for me last no more than five years. Nearing five years of use they loose their ability to repel water and instead soak up water. Also with five years of outside use they become fragile from the ultra violet radiation and will tear easily if caught on something.
The Weathershield is one layer of thin woven nylon fabric about 1/32" (.79 mm) thick. The Noah Fabric is non-woven and is four separate layers that are mechanically bonded and it's about an 1/8" (3.175 mm) thick.
They both repel water perfectly when new and they both breath well and allow any water trapped underneath to evaporate.
They are about the most expensive somewhere between $250 to $300 with the cable and padlock which is sold separately.

I ordered one of the Weathershield HP covers a week or so ago myself. According to the vendor, its a 1-4 week lead time for getting these made and shipped.

I have the one from DMCH (I forget the brand). It's really nice and all, but it does not repel water very well. I once had to park the D outside one night and it rained. The car was wet on most surfaces. I love the look of it and I don't regret buying because it is mainly just used indoors, but I am disappointed about the lack of weather-protection the manufacturer advertised.

Just got my WeatherShield HP in gray. Just put it on for the first time. To be used primarily under covered (unfortunately not enclosed) parking. Will post up again upon request with long-term results.
