    Glove box lid removal

My daughter is going to one of those geeky comic book conventions. Apparently Doc will be there signing autographs so I was thinking of sending my glove box lid with her to get signed (on the inside of course). Is it difficult to remove and re-install?

    thanks
    John

    It's easy.

Best way is to remove the bottom screws, the ones holding the hinges to the box/dashboard, so that the lid spring comes out with them. Less hassle this way than remembering how to put the spring back in if you separate the hinges from the lid. It runs from one hinge to the other. It will cause the right hinge to flip back after it's off, not an issue.

And you'll want to note the exact alignment of the hinges so the lid fits to the dash the same way after you reinstall it.

Have fun and say hi to Christopher for us all.

You're lucky he wrote "Doc" . His handler wouldn't allow that on my piece!

Strictly speaking Christoper Loyd does not own the character Doc. Very similar to the Lone Ranger. He was stopped from tours saying the Lone Ranger was there and he had to get those oversize sunglasses. He could "intimate" that the Lone Ranger might be there but couldn't come right out and say it. Barris got himself into a LOT of trouble when he stopped "suggesting" he built the BTTF car and instead took credit for it. While he did "refurb" and clean one up he never built one but lead people into believing he did. Actors have to be careful and not upset the studios and jeopardize future potential roles by claiming ownership of things they do not own. In any case it looks great and you are lucky to have it.
