The Fiero was my first car. I hope she picked a manual shift!
Edit: she did. Good taste! Thread here. http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/085309.html

I think that is cool.
Funny how kids will have very different goals. My 2 year old granddaughter is very fluent with speaking complete sentences but can't entertain herself playing with toys. She will be an teacher when she grows up like her mother.
Her sister at 1 year old does not speak a word but will play for hours with a toy or anything with buttons. She will be an engineer. Maybe even help me fixing my D in a few year.

I remember this girl's project every time I see a Fiero on the road. It's awesome and give us hope that the younger generations aren't completely lost.

And quite the motivational boost! off the garage...
Cool story! It's not very often you hear about a 12 year old girl wanting to build a car. It sounds like she's been getting lots of support and will meet her goal of having it complete before she's 16.

Awesome project for an awesome car. Good for her. I love the Fiero (it's on my list of five favorite cars) but if/when I get one, I will just go ahead a buy one I can drive now, not spend four years working and learning on first.

Once you straight wired the fan, it didn't overheat anymore. I had a few of them and in retrospect maybe took it for granted, because my white manual shift 85 was a good little car. I always felt it was a modern take on JZDs sports concept for pontiac... Although the old iron duke engine was not very sporting. The chevette suspension didn't bother me too much.

I'm always surprised at the level of work that people put into Fieros. I have an '84 in my back yard that need a few issues fixed and, for what they sell for, it's often better to buy a restored car. I'm surprised that they don't make more of the "worst car" lists because they always felt like a cruder version of the DeLorean.
