Getting ready as much as I can. Going to be long power outages and lots of flooding. Finishing up my generator wiring but my propane tank is only 300 gals.

Hopefully it won't get too cold after the power outages..... after Ike, we didn't have power for 2 full weeks. First couple of days were nice and dry and relatively cool. Then reality of living in Houston came back and the rest of the time was hot and sticky and miserable without A/C.
Thank goodness the natural gas stayed on. Cooked outside on the plumbed BBQ and had ourselves a feast on the meat we had to use up from the freezer. We put some in the freezer of the elderly couple across the street and took care of keeping the generator going. Gas station lines were terrible.
Get gas NOW. Remember, water pumping stations need electricity or gas backup. If transportation disruptions prevent filling them; no water.
We're accustomed to hurricanes down here, are generally more "self sufficient" than the urban areas of the NE and don't whine about it (unlike New Orleans). Anyone want to put money on our POTUS turning this into a political event? If so, don't post! You'll get banned!

If you will notice there have been no Hurricanes in the last 3 years on the west coast of Florida. It's because I spent 15,000 on Hurricane Shutters for the house.
I think all the residents of this area should pitch in to help me pay for them I've kept the hurricanes away
Conversley everywhere else is mad at me for sending them all their way.
Thanks,
Lenny

This is weird. BC just had a 7.7 earthquake. We now have a tsunami warning in effect.

Car is barricaded in the garage. Hoping it's still in one piece in a few days!
