I think I might have seen you driving around. I saw a knight rider car leaving my dads house in Cobb the other week.

Likely not. Mine hasn't been anywhere other than the local auto shop and my house for like the past 4 months.

Though I'd love to know who else in Cobb has one.

Hey Chris: I'm also building a Kitt replica. What brand of "Lt Buckskin" paint did you use on the interior trim? Also did you re-dye your stock door panels or did you purchase new ones?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Very nice fellow to take the time out to visit with a fan boy.

    Damn those cars are cool.

SEM Color Coat. It's seriously the best shit out there.

Movement on this project has been ridiculously slow, but I'm happy to report some progress:

    - New water pump.
    - New, very beefy alternator. (The halogen scanner on the front is a power-hungry beast)
    - Replaced the mechanical speed sensor on the transmission with an electronic sensor.
    - Permanent mounting brackets for the scanner, with a firewall port for the wire.
    - Added two additional fuse panels bolted on the outside walls of the front footwells - one activated on "accessory" with the ignition, the other always live.
    - 3 out of 4 of the seats are fully reupholstered, including headrests.

    Dashboard progress:

    - Dash electronics have been fully tested and are 100% operational.
    - Voicebox frame is installed in the fiberglass dash and 90% surface finished. Needs some more Bondo and sanding.

    Next up:

    - Paint needs to be redone in many areas. Chemical reactions in the primer and filler areas are causing bubbling.
    - 80% of the exterior non-headlight bulbs have been upgraded to LEDs. Rear lights are having some electrical problems.
    - Reupholster the driver's seat and headrest.
    - Install sound deadener throughout the car.
    - Replace all 4 speakers, possibly add one or two more.

Replaced the shitty Pontiac AMR factory speakers with a set of Alpine SPE-6090s.
