SpecialTauto has them for 16.95 You can't beat the price it's dirt cheap. Not like it's a complicated part either. Nothing that will break either!

Guess he should remove it from his website if doesn't plan on replenishing his stock. Looks like another possible part for DPI to produce.

If this is p/n 101045, does anyone have a picture of this installed on their car? Might just have found another piece of the theoretical DeLorean that doesn't exist on my car...

yes the part number is correct. I think it is made in absestos from factory, like the other heatshields..

You can check with Rob Grady. I got one from him when we installed the 3.0 at his shop. I remember he said to me "Hang on...I've got something that would be an improvement over the asbestos shield." He ran to the back room and came out with it. and said he rarely ever uses them! I'm sure he still has a stock of them.

If I'm not mistaken, it is on VIN 001292. Josh, can you verify this?

I have the english SS fre flow exhaust.
according to this picture (credit to Jeremy Popp) http://www.deloreanweb.com/uploads/exhaust16.jpg with the UK headers it is still possible to mount the starter heatshield (in the picture I guess there is the original one mounted)

the reason I want the heatshield is because I think it would be a good improvement to protect the 30 years old starter and solenoid against the huge amount of heat generated by the exhaust system..
