This was all day one in 3.5 hours done.

Yeah, I wanted to ask DMCFL where that came from. All I know is that it was an abandoned car for 20 years in Michigan.

And all I see is that a few smart ass technicians tried making a few things right but went all the way to wrong

i love restoration threads, especially ones with lots of pictures! keep it up!

the "Maroon" bumper sticker on the rear fascia has me intrigued. Pontiac stopped using the Native American logo after 1957, but perhaps some dealers continued using the logo? a quick google search reveals there used to be a Maroon Pontiac in Wayne, New Jersey... did 5992 ever spend time there?

    RIGHT ON! |Great job buddy.
Yes the VIN chronology file reads it to be a Wayne NJ car.

It is now a Maroon KIA Dealership.
What a disappointment. From a glorious Pontiac to KIA

Well at least John Z would be proud to have his D's dealt from a Pontiac dealer.

I think I will write the a mail about it and see what I come up with.

According to the VIN list and Dealers List, the original dealer for your car was in fact Maroon Pontiac in Wayne NJ, so that must be the original dealer sticker. You should try and keep it on there if/when you respray the fascia.

The autocheck report is next to useless as it just has DMCF info on it.

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

Thanx mouse. Yes I was willing to remake that sticker (high res photography and print it on a silver paper) as the fascia is going to be painted. Unfortunately my sticker is already missing the top two corners already. Somebody tried peeling that off:

the missing corners shouldnt be too hard to fix on a computer before the sticker gets printed!

Fixing it on an image software is not an issue for me. I just wanted to keep the original on it and that is why I mentioned the missing corners.

Could you not just make the picked off edges straight and add new corners to it? Match the colour in a program with a close photograph? Just my idea of how to save the decal. Personally, I'd remove it, but I understand the significance of keeping it.

There are several things I can do.
To be honest... when I first saw it I was like " yup that's gota go"
But when the car arrived in Greece and saw it again, I felt like it is its birthmark. There is no other Delorean for about 5000 miles to have it stand out but It still felt like a keeper.
Having no idea what that was Ι looked on ebay to see if there is a replacement. I first thought its a sports team of some kind.
Especially when I realized its importance and rarity, I set it as target to keep.
