    Body Kits?

Ive seen pics of a few DMCs with body kits. I know its not popular with the purists, but I like the look. Most have seen the one from the Macklemore video:

Any idea where this kit was purchased? Or even what kit this started out as, and was modified for the DMC? Thanks

Here's a thread on DMCHelp that shows more pics of that same car from the music video. The 'DELOREAN' text was smoothed over on the skirts

Properly installed I think it looks ok, but personally I don't like the reduction in ground clearance. As well as the practical issue of clipping the front on speed bumps, I think the DMC-12 looks better as a relatively high-riding touring car rather than a track-styled pure sports car.

    Body Skirt Kit

    Helllo Everybody!

Does anybody of you know who is the manufacturer of the Body Skirt Kit?
I ask because DMC Texas said that they have to order/produce it and that I
have to wait 4 weeks, before it can be delivered.
This brings me to the point that some manufacturer must built the Kit for DMC.

I would like to purchase one, even a used one would be OK, because the called
price of DMC of 849,-- USD I find it very expensive and because I am living in
Europe I have to pay shipping + Costum Fee on top of it.
    Best Regards from the Capt'n!

Take it easy, but take it!

Ouch, that's unfortunate. I dont know who does it, but if they're truly doing one-offs as DMCH orders them, it's probably unlikely that they can sell directly. Its most likely that DMCH owns the tooling and that the company just does they fiberglass layup for them when DMCH needs a set.

I found a used never installed set years ago (now installed on my car) so every now and then they pop up. It may take more than 4 weeks though for a set to pop up. I've never seen a set pop up though that had been installed on a car and then removed and sold. For good reason honestly; they are a pain to install and once they're on, you pretty much never want to have to take them off again.

Most people I've talked to about these don't realize that these are not a bolt-on kit. You need to figure out how you're going to attach these, you'll be drilling holes, sanding and mine at least needed fiberglass work so that they would fit the curves of the car. Not only that, I have to repaint the rocker skirts after a few years due to road debris chipping the paint slowly. After hitting a few parking blocks, I removed the front strip entirely.

I think it is all worth it though, I love the look. Good luck.
