His livelihood depends on being the funny guy, so instead of being all down and out about the car, it was probably a pretty funny way to laugh off the situation. If a $500,000 investment of mine went in the toilet, I'm not sure I'd be too quick to laugh about it either. In context, it was likely part of his routine on the show. Not sure, but that would be my guess.
