For reference it's the 3M-18734 3" Roloc Bristle Disc, grade 50 Size 3.
The 3" was a little larger than strictly necessary for this task, but it was cheaper than the 2" and I think would be more useful in other applications when you're done with these jobs.

Just an update for anyone checking/following this thread: I've put on about 600 miles since doing this job and the fresh cardboard under the car says it all: not a single drop!
