    Wonky Door New Metal Handle

Has anyone ever had an issue with the metal door handle replacements fitment? I installed a new metal handle from DMC Garden Grove and it doesn't line up with the black trim on the door. I have replaced the drivers one long ago and its a perfect fit so I've been on this rodeo once before. The originally plastic broken handle lined up perfectly...What am I missing? Called Danny at DMC and sent him some pics, has anybody had this issue before? I don't mean to be picky but I expect the new handle to fit the same if not better than old on did.

I have a couple of the metal ones when they first came out. I could not get the fit correct so just left my working originals installed. I may got back and try them again someday.

    Handle

Nice thing about buying from an authorized DMC vender is that they will make it right. I wonder if the one I bought was one of those early metal ones..Glad to know I'm not the only one that's had this issue. There's a fellow here that has a good used original, I know it's plastic but it's so easy to replace, I'll take my chances, a small sacrifice for a nice straight fit.

    Update

So, I put a used handle on the car from a member who parted a vehicle out and it's a prefect fit, imagine that! Not sure why the new metal one fit so poorly?

    questions

Is the plastic handle really much prone to break? Wouldn't it be good to keep it and just be careful in opening the doors?

And what affects the plastic handle? Cold/hot temperature? Frequent use?

    thanks

My car came with one metal and one plastic handle. When I swapped doors on the passenger side, as i was tightening the stud on the metal handle, the stud sheared off. Curse words ensued. So the metal handles wear out just as the plastic ones in my experience...

I think it's unnecessary putting them on the priority list you have only to open the doors carefullly the next winter
up to now Giascarcio is the only one I know who broke an handle.. and he uses the car as a daily driver.. for example my car came with a replaced handle (obviously driver side) and it came from California

I'll put it on the list, but as the last thing to get... together with the side stripe and the rear bumper letters!

Anyway you forgot to say "our BELOVED president!"
