Lightbulb Lego BTTF Set - July 18th, 2013

Just an update - The announced LEGO Back to the Future Set (from last December) will finally hitting the shelves this July 18th.

The set look pretty neat and isn't too expensive (compared to other lego sets). The car could have been done a bit better - check the comments in the link to see a much better looking version.

    What do you guys think?

The car could have been done better. $50 is kinda pricey

I recall the first set and thinking that it was marginal, and my opinion of this is even worse. I think it looks awful, personally. I appreciate what they are trying to do, but they should do it in a bigger scale as they are being seriously hampered by the detail needed with standard Lego bricks. And I am a big Lego fan.

The countdown-clock thingy on the dash is cool though.

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

I agree. The scale they were trying to hit was just too small to have the proper detail. Such a shame too, as you always see the incredible Star Wars sets they come out with and know they can do better.

Here is the set on Lego's website:

    http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/The-DeLor...-machine-21103

It's $44.99 in Canada and $34.99 in the US.

You can also download the build instructions here:

    http://service.lego.com/en-us/buildi...rereferer=true

If the link doesn't come up to the set directly, type in 21103 as that is the set number. Download is 55 MB. Several pages at the beginning show stuff about the movies.

I wish they wouldn't call that thing a DeLorean, it's more like a space crab...
