Damn, This reminded me of one my favorite Manfred Mann song!

It wasn't a big hit for them but, lots of requests for it when they tour.
Now I have to add it to my D crusin song list.

I have the single picture disc of this with Blinded by the Light on the flip side.

Farrar, it is hard to disagree with any of your list. Very fine music.
But if anyone is going to mention RUSH, then you will know that you must allow the creative forces to ascend and inhabit your whole being!!!!!! BTW the quality of this video is very dark and it probably needs to be brightened before you can watch it. But it is RUSH at their finest. I listen to this all the time in my D! Listen to the musicianship! This cannot be overlooked:

Speaking of which, RUSH are playing this Saturday night just outside Toronto!! YAY!!!

Also the very complete ultimate REAL music band cannot be ignored either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC67vNY9Rcg
This is played more than anything else in my car. These guys are the masters of musical sound. Such mastery!

I've seen RUSH live several times. It's a great show. These guys are so great because of the generations they've covered and the way their sound changed. I'll always be a fan.

My playlist is very non-traditional, but here goes:

Track 1 - the roar of the engine on my ridiculously loud exhaust (even idle is loud)
Track 2 - Spectators shouting "OMG HOLY SHIT A DELOREAN!!! NICE CAR DUDE!!!"

I honestly never listen to the radio. I finally hooked it up this past weekend just to see if it worked, and everything does, but I'll be selling it soon. Call me crazy, but I'm swapping it out for one of those drawer/cupholder combos I got off eBay. Might as well make use of the space, right?

(And if I ever change my mind, I'll get an HD radio instead )

I have many different playlists depending upon mood when I drive the D. Or at least in this case when I used to, but that's a different story... Anyway, there are lots of songs that I listen to that again reflect my mood, but only a few that reflect how I feel about my car. This one sums it up quite nicely:

My milestone songs though are ones that always remind me of unique times in my car when they randomly played on the stereo.

First time I test drove the car:
    California Dreamin'
    Mama's and the Papa's

When the deal was done and I got in to drive her home:
    Sympathy for the Devil
    Rolling Stones

    First time I surpassed 100mph:
    Atom Bomb
    Fluke

The last song that ever played in her when I killed the engine and she ran for the final time:
    Blue Skies
    BT f/Tori Amos

The one song I promised myself I'd play once she hits the road again:
    The Dream
    Irene Cara
    Robert

People they come together, people they fall apart...
