Very cool. It'll be interesting to see how it all comes together.

An idea of putting a VR6 into the DeLorean has crossed my mind a while ago but I was put off by the weight of the engine. Do you the difference in weight between PRV and VR6?
I never found any real numbers but I know that the block is cast iron and must be heavy. I had a chance to help a friend load one of those engines on a pickup truck and it felt a lot heavier that the PRV. I wonder how the weight difference will affect the handling.

It's hard to compare from numbers you get on line but from what I just looked up they are about the same weight. wiki says the PRV is about 330lbs I found someone who weighed a complete 12v VR6 long block at 300lbs, so add the alternator intake... we should be within 50lbs in the end.

So I was able to get some more work done now that some parts came in. I was able to do a refresh on the head and upgraded the valve stem seals. I have the new timing chains and rails in with all new OE parts. I'm waiting on the head gasket so that we can make a custom spacer to get the ~9.2:1 compression I want for this build. The adapter test plate came out very close, I just have to move some of the bolt holes so that they are dead on. I'm also in the middle of having the a new flange machined so that I can make a turbo intake setup that will bolt to the stock lower intake manifold.
Here are a few pics of the progress:
*happy sigh* (: We'll talk on the phone more about how happy this makes me on Sunday.

Me: Eddie, I can't wait to get the car back when you're done with it.
Eddie: Yeah, you'll be able to give the car gas, and it won't be - like - embarrassing....

Very cool! I'll definitely come check out the place sometime. Any chance you've got R-12 capabilities? I may be wanting to adjust some things soon.

I can get access to R12 but I find r134a worked great in my car when I had it hooked up.
