I was chatting to Chris N when he was regraining my car and he is able to add the gas flap into a flat hood. Has has done a few before.
Handy to know if you ever need it!

The X to me is always based on the lighting. Flourescent lighting in a shop always tends to bring mine out a bit. That or direct overhead view, otherwise you never see it.
Here's a few photos of my car:
Bad angle with X:
Heres the same car with no X (taken about a week prior)
Heck here's the exact same parade with no X

Thanks, for the record, I try as hard as I can to find beater cars with as many dents as possible and save the better cars for the fans.
After all, I am still a fan!
This car had a bad X in the hood and little dents and dings all over it.
It was barely running and needed everything.
I replaced the entire brake and fuel system.
Out of 9000+ cars, I think about 50 of them are Time Machines.
SO with only 0.6% of the total produced cars being converted, I don't think it will be much of an issue!!!!
Besides, these Time Machines keep the Delorean name alive and inspire buyers
to fix up these back yard heaps and keep venders like DMCH in business which allows them to make the replacement parts we need.
All important to the food chain.
Your welcome.

The only time I've seen an X on my hood is winter time, when frost is on the car.
Sorry no pics. (I'll try this winter).
George
EDIT: Just noticed this is an Old thread.
George.
1974 BMW RS90 motorcycle
1981 DeLorean. Cruise Control, Wings-A-Loft, Eibach springs, Spax shocks, Stage1 exhaust, Manual, Grey and Grooved, LED clock and fixed pulls.
1993 del Sol S (With a Few, Upgrades)
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited
Not that old as I was looking up the X- as I can kind of see it in my garage, but not when the car is outdoors. So I wanted to see if this was pretty common as I had heard about it here before. And decided to reply.
Thus the thread being resuscitated..
