Failed login attempt emails, potential hack attempt

Hi guys. I got the following email twice at my inbox:

    Dear AdmiralSenn,

Someone has tried to log into your account on DMCTalk Forum - A DeLorean Community with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 188.143.232.144

    All the best,
DMCTalk Forum - A DeLorean Community

    Same IP address both times.

I'm not terribly worried about my account since this one has a completely unique, randomly generated password, but this may be part of a larger hack attempt or something. I haven't gotten any more for a few hours, so whoever it was seems to have given up for today.

Just thought I'd let someone know.

Thanks Adam. I'll look into it. I had that happen a few years ago as well.

    Thanks Adam,

FYI- That is a Russian IP. It is on many blacklists. We've noticed a rise in the number of bots from there lately.

(Good password saved the day ;-)

Yeah it tried my account too. I wouldn't worry about it unless you have a weak password.

Same here, just got the same e-mail. Sorta relieved its blunt attack on the site rather than someone using a stolen packet of my personal info. If anyone gets a message from me offering you a Western Union wire of a million dollars from my estate in exchange for your car, just make sure to put my name on the title and e-mail the location of the car and keys instead of just shipping it off to Russia.

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"
