I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

I've been hoarding Hot Wheels DMCs since they came out, I think I'm up to 100. I'll have to grab a picture at some point. Gave one out to a neighbor kid when he came over dressed as Marty McFly for haloween, was awesome!
This is not an official release. It is a fan made custom that was sold or given away at the Mexico Convention. While there are official Convention Cars for various conventions around the world, the DeLorean has yet to be used as a Convention Car. I cannot believe someone paid that much for it.
For those looking for more Hot Wheels DeLoreans, there is a new release that should be hitting the stores soon. This one comes in red. It is the same graphics as the current dark grey version (HW City) out there, but in red with black stripes and white accent marks. There are a few on ebay being sold (illegally obtained) by factory workers. Or, you can just wait a few weeks and get it at the stores.

Cool! You know we will find em
So, here's a question. Why is it that there always seems to be a shortage of DeLoreans on the shelf? There's never a lack of Corvettes or Lotuses or the fantasy cars.... Are there simply less DeLoreans made? Are there really people in every single market snapping up *only* DeLorean models to flip on eBay?

That's a hell of a lot of trouble to go through for a 5 buck, (at best considering ebay and PP fees) profit.
What I don't get is the people who open then, then sell them..or even better, the people who paint them and stick decals on them and try and sell them...or worse, the people who actually buy them.

LOL, well I agree with you there. I just don't get the scarcity. When I do get it in my head to go through the bins of them at the store, it seems like I constantly toss aside the same pile of rejects. So there's definitely fewer in my experience and I'm just curious if it's a lower production or a higher demand

My son's favorite part of DCS 2012 was seeing the D-Rex for the first time, so when he recently broke the body off one of his Hot Wheels Monster Jam trucks, I used the opportunity to build him a D-Rex he can drive:

I know the proportions are off, but he doesn't mind.
