They are. For the size, they're very well detailed. I hope HW gets the elite license for stock DMCs, because the AutoArt one appears to be dead in the water. They've got a 1:18 scale time machine that looks great - I'll probably get it for the sake of completion, but I'm much more interested in 'normal' DeLoreans

I was thinking "wow, that looks nice." and then "wow, not 160 dollars nice." I'm too cheap to buy that. I'll stick to my dollar Hot Wheels. I finally found two New Waves. Still on the lookout for a red one.

they need to weather it, shade it, give it some grime...it looks soo toy like, and way to light colored

Will i buy one? of course

Mean while Auto art has had 3 years...every time i talk to them they say, we are having issues getting the stainless or some crap

IMHO, the SunStar 1:18 DeLoreans appear nicer than the Hot Wheels 1:18 BTTF DeLorean.

That's nothing; Hot Wheels has a Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Edition DeLorean Time Machine scheduled for next year, with a price tag of $340.99! No details or specs on it yet, but I'm going to assume it's capable of transforming into all four different versions of the Time Machine.

Overall, I'm quite impressed. Look at the stitching on the leather seats inside. Pretty well detailed. And the stainless looks really well done as well, a nice brushed look to it. I can only hope that Hot Wheels will do a stock DMC-12 at 1:18 scale at some point. Just by comparison with this Time Machine version, it looks a million times better than the Sunstar's.

On a different note, is DMC Texas (or its affiliates) selling the new Hot Wheels DMC's with the Pinstripe, the Red Car and the New Wave versions? I'm up here in Canada, and neither Toys R' Us, Target or Walmart seem to be getting them. If not DMC, is anyone selling them?
