Back in Time ... to the Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade 2010

The St. Pat's Parade 2010 was the last and most recent appearance of the DeLorean Time Machine Prop Car Replica in this parade.

The DeLorean Time Machine Prop Car Replica is now stored over 100 miles away from downtown Chicago, so it is a lot of work just
to do the 400+ miles of driving, there and back, there and back, to get the vehicle to the parade (and pay to be in the parade).

A big thanks to Tony Swann for having PJ Clarke's sponsor our entry fee for 2010. (and thanks to the two servers from PJ Clarke's)

    Just saw this thread.
Love shots. Wakes up memories. Used to live 10 years ago at 300 N.State Chicago is my second home.
Weird how I missed your parades. I was around at every St. Patric's. From the river dying green to the high pub traffic near Lincoln Park.

    Hi Alexakos,

The DeLorean Midwest Connection Club has been in the downtown Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade for the past 20 years (since our debut in 1994).
We had some good staging number in the parade for the first decade, but we have not seen a "double digit" staging number since 2006. In fact, we
have had "triple digit" staging numbers since 2007, with most of them being at the end or near the end of the parade (one of our highest was #172).
Attaching a couple photos of the Chicago skyline back in 2005, one facing Northeast and one facing Northwest.

As for the area around 300 N. State, did you live near there or work near there? I did some work around 400 N. State about 8 - 9 years ago
and I do not recall many (or any) residences in that area, only businesses and hotels. I also had an office at 980 N. Michigan for a short time.

    Later,
    Rich W.

I lived in the marina city and worked 3 blocks north on Grand and Michigan. But that was 1999 to 2003

I LOVE Chicago. Was there for a week for work related stuff (I worked for Nokia in San Diego) and stayed at a small boutique hotel on West Kinzie off State. Got to eat at Weber Grill (that was neat), and of course Giordano's over by the Sears Tower.

Would like to go back when it's not so cold (went in October).

Marina City is very interesting architecture - wonder what came first, that or the Jetson's apartments....

Downers Grove South HS - Homecoming and 50th Anniversary Class Reunion

Forgot to post these photos at the end of last month, after the Downers Grove South HS Homecoming and 50th Anniversary Class Reunion event.

There was a Back to the Future theme for both the Homecoming and Reunion events. There was little doubt who enjoyed seeing the DeLorean more.

As expected, the Class Reunion attendees were much more excited about the DeLorean Time Machine Replica Prop Car than the current students.

Such a shame. So pretty, yet so dumb.

Car looks great though. Arguably more realistic than the fiberglass car(s) used in the movies.
