    Hagerty Classic Cars Magazine Articles

Not sure if any one has seen or mentioned this before, however I have recently been sent a copy of the above magazine, however as it is mainly an American mag I thought I would post the details hear as well. Any way there is a reasonable article on the DMC-12, Bricklin SV1 and M.Benz 300SL:

Bummer, thought I'd be the first to post about this I nearly jumped for joy when I got my mail today.

Either way, here's a photo of the cover. Great pics. The article has some very good info about our car, and it's an overall VERY positive exposure!!

I could swear I've seen that Michegan OUTATME plate here on the forum before, but there are so many variations on that same theme I could be mistaken

Is that your standard Hagerty mag or is it an extra subscription?

Just the normal one that came with the insurance. Every quarter I skim it hoping for a mention of a DeLorean. Outside chance, I always thought... But how cool would it be to find one?

Never imagined a full page front cover photo!!

The author, Ezra Dyer, is an occasional contributing writer to the Automobiles section of the New York Times.

He did a very nice job on this article comparing 3 very unique cars to each other and their contemporaries. Along with a shout-out in a sidebar to the Mercedes SLS AMG GT.

He wrote about driving the DeLorean, comparing it favorably to the Esprit of that time.

Owner Gene Kopczyk did us all proud, too! Nice job.

Bonus Feature found further back in the same quarterly issue:

    IMG_5692.jpg

Mercedes 300SL, Bricklin SV-1 and DeLorean DMC-12 valuation info and trends shown side by side.

    The current math:

    1.0 DMC-12 = 1.5 SV-1's
    1.0 300SL = 30 DMC-12's

That section is interesting. "Most were automatics in stainless with gray leather, though five-speeds appeared later in production"

That's exactly the opposite of what I thought was true. I thought the majority were black 5 speeds with grey autos being from later on. Am I wrong?

Strange I got a copy before you guys! I have never seen the mag before and it was only sent to me as Hegerty is a specialist classic car insurer in the UK (Not sure if it's the same in the US) who we, as an owners club have a good discount scheme set up with them. The link above to our forum will give you a downloadable pdf.

A buddy at my work brought in his copy and gave it to me this past Monday. I was thrilled to say the least. A very nice presentation. Notice how the Delorean is the front car in the cover photo even though the high dollar jewel is behind it. I'm sure the colors of the cars had something to do with. It's a lot easier to see the red in the back ground than the silver stainless. It also breaks up the shot.
