Nice attempts. Did you ever try mounting it on the roof on the t panel, facing forward or rear. Or better yet put two cameras on.

Suction cups are no good on stainless, at least not for me with a GoPro.
It appears to hold at first but then when you least expect it, the camera lets go and you get footage of it scraping across the highway or other hazards.
The best way is to use the self adhesive attachments that come with it or in an accessory pack. Those do not let go and work very well!
