I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

Both of them each year
Silver looks great but the dark wheels have look that compliments the car nicely. It just looks more period correct with the darker wheels. In other words I like both evenly. To me, dark wheels are just like side stripes or hoods...any combination looks nice.
The only exception is interior colors. That grey interior is ghastly.
I think having a 2-tone affect on your interior looks good, to a degree. For instance I have a grey interior and recently put in black floormats. I think that looks sharp with the contrast. Just like anything else though, it can be overdone.
Everyone's tastes are different. To each his own.

Let's not let this degenerate into an interior color flame war. I mean, we all know the black interior gives you a claustrophobic feel in an already tight cabin not to mention absorbs the sun's heat on a summer day adding to the issues of UV tintless glass. Just because grey is greatly superior doesn't mean we need to argue about it.

I like them both actually
If were rich I would have one of both. If I'm ever able to get one of these cars I will go buy best one I can get!!

I've always loved the dark wheels. Like Michael pointed out, they really give the car a very distinct, period look. Something about them just makes the cars look more exotic. Plus, the silver wheels are a BITCH to keep clean. My least favorite are the machined/polished wheels, though. Since the wheels are clear coated aluminum and the body panels are bare stainless, they never match in color or sheen. I'm not a fan. The chrome wheels give the cars a nice contrasting pop, though.
Regarding interior color, both of my DeLoreans were grey interior cars. I used to think it was the color to have... but I've done a 180 on that since. Mainly, a grey car with grey interior is just a whole lotta grey. Plus, the grey interior pieces tend to brown with exposure to sun, and no 2 pieces ever seem age in the same way. So the grey interior cars just look like a patchwork quilt of brownish grey tones... and that just looks like crap. My favorite interior combination is the '82 & '83 black interiors, because they have the light grey carpets & floor mats. That way you get the luxurious look of the black leather with a nice contrast so the interior isn't as dark.

I believe that the intent of the dark grey/gray wheels was to 'match' the color the front/rear fascias, providing a uniform contrast of color across the entire length of the car.
Personally, I prefer the dark grey/gray wheels to the silver.
