You're right, it was a 1989. It's been a while since I pulled it!

From memory:
the 88 and 89 have a distributor housing on the timing cover
the 90 - 92 have it capped off.
I could be wrong though.

Pretty cool to see one of these still running and driving, I can't imagine there are many left out there. All the ones I've seen in person were in salvage yards.
Very pimp, very disco.

I got my engine from one that had 40k miles on it. It was owned by some older lady and was kept in pristine condition until a tree branch fell on top of the car totaling it out. Up until then, it was in perfect driving condition and ran like a top.

BTW, I have a 3.0 engine but it was missing the plastic engine cover over the intake, if anyone comes across one, let me know!

There are a couple of premiers in salvage yards I know of that have the 3.0 engine, including that one I just posted above. Here's what the engine cover looks like. Kinda dirty, but should clean up. I haven't been to that yard in a while but I can check if it's still there.
There is also another one 5 minutes away from work that I can stop by on my way home. That yard also has like 40 pontiac fieros if anybody needs some Iron Duke parts

That would be awesome! That can still be cleaned up / painted. Let me know the cost.

I also spotted this sick Chrysler Cordoba. The interior is so...rich...and Corinthian.
