I have the Island Twin Turbo kit and I run two custom "turbo" mufflers from the stainless works in Ohio....I think that is the same place that does stainless work for DPI. I've had them on for 6 or 7 years now. I don't run cats, but if you take off the turbos, there should easily be room for cats.

SW will make or sell you a custom muffler per request. Only our proprietary items are off limits there.

A small bit of piping and they dropped right in. Pretty much occupied the exact same space without hanging down like the ovals.

I'm guessing dual exhaust pretty much eliminates the need for the heat shield, correct? You're just coming off both sides of the engine and straight out the back, right?

So an update to this, if anyone is wondering, there is NOT 6 inches of clearance for a muffler in the same position as the original, at least not without having to modify something. However, I did find an alternative Borla muffler that is only 4 inches thick that does fit, so I lucked out in the end. It's going to be installed in the new month or so, and I'll post pics and video of the sound once it's all ready to go.

Can you give us a part number of the one you found that will fit?

The early version of Houston's "Performance Exhaust" used a Series 80 Flowmaster. (With 2.5" ins and outs.)

Note: You will not have enough room to get a wrench on your crankshaft nut with this muffler and heat shield in place. I just thought I'd mention this if you happen to care about stuff like that.
