    I cleaned out my cage and it made a huge difference. I think this is the correct motor with cage, however:

    I just got the four seasons blower motor to replace mine with a shot bearing. Should I leave these clips on the cage?IMG_20220708_150333771.jpg

    They are balancing clips. You would want to leave them on, assuming they are in the right spot

    Ok, thanks I left them on, I thought they may have been put on by the previous owner to counter the broken bearing.

    I think that motor is made by VDO, in which case it's the best OEM style solution with no modifications needed.

    Yes, just a few weeks ago. It's a lot quieter, so was certainly worth it. The hole that connects the small rubber pipe is on the reverse side, so doesn't fit any more. I left it off.
