I wholly expected this thread to get political which is precisely why I expressly asked that it not. I'm hoping that our members can be mature and have a reasonable discussion which avoids politics and I have faith that we can. If that faith is misplaced and I am wrong, it can be dealt with.

Part of that includes not responding to baiting. Another part includes not baiting to begin with.

You don't need a political spin when talking about Fox News and Quality reporting. Terrible is terrible. If they were to switch between left, right, or even no bias they would still be terrible. As is CNN and many other of the major US "News" networks.

Alec Baldwin's recent piece spoke to this. It doesn't matter if it's left or right, mass media is terrible all the way around nowadays. Everyone is more concerned with being entertained and fueling pre-conceived notions than with facts.

So very true. Especially after the whole Akre/Wilson lawsuit against Fox News in Florida where Fox was able to successfully argue that the First Amendment trumps FCC regulations on news reporting. Or in laymen's terms a news organization can falsely distribute information legally, and that any effort to stop them is an act of censorship and thus it would be illegal to stop them in any way. Lots of people hold that against Fox News as a way to slam them, but in truth it applies to any media outlet and all should be criticized equally. Because this really is where we're ending up:

Argeed Idiocracy is one of those "jems" that is on the must watch list for all people with a sense of humor.
Not suitable for serious viewers of Fox News though. They will not get it.
