Advice for joining Battery ground cables.

    Hello All,

I mentioned in an earlier post (regarding Grounding issues) that I re-routed my battery ground cable from the frame to the transmission directly. I've grown a bit apprehensive that I may have made grounding more difficult for those components that ground to the frame. I have the original ground wire still connected to the frame, just not going anywhere. The new cable (with new terminals) runs transmission to battery post. I'd like to join the cables, so the battery grounds to both frame and transmission. Kind of like the three way cable offered by SpecialTAuto.

I was thinking of stripping the insulation off the in-force ground cable (about a two inch section in the centre), and soldering the old cable to it. Then wrapping the connection with electrical tape.

Does this sound wise? any suggestions?

    Thanks,

If you don't plan on needing access to that connection again, I'd use heatshrink instead of electrical tape.
