    Refreshing original Front shocks?

    Hello!
Looking at original front shocks and planning to reuse them. They are straight and seem to work well. No, strange front end issues before removal. I'm cleaning up some surface rust right now.
Are there any new bushings around that would work for these?

Is the lower bushing and rubber bonded in place?

    New upper bushing rubbers?

What is the correct stack up for the upper rubber bushings? Mine had domed metal washers on either side of the lower rubber and the same on top of the frame shock tower. Topped off with a double nut.

    Hi there,

I refreshed my set as spares. For the top bushings, I used 2 packages of Dorman Help! Line, part #31019. The smaller bushing in that kit fits.

I think I saw someone here replace the bottom bushing. I haven't attempted it yet, as it is pressed in.

I opted to use Rustoleum Charcoal Gray part number 7784 as a close match to the original paint.

    Cheers,

I think DPI and a few other vendors also carry the upper bushings in polyurethane. I don't recall ever reading about anyone replacing the lower pressed in bushings but I'd be interested in buying a set if anyone knows where they are available. It would be nice to refurbish my original shocks and have them on hand for backup should my SPAX shocks fail.
