BTTF Movie Night at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Hey fellow NCDMC'ers. I've been in contact with the Beach Boardwalk since early June with a proposal to display our cars during their Movies on the Beach series showing of BTTF. I just heard back from them and it looks as though they are interested in having one or more of our cars on display for that evening Wednesday August 10th. http://www.beachboardwalk.com/movies/ I've asked for a secure area and they have agreed to let us park our cars on the Boardwalk near the bumper cars exit which will place us in a location where we could easily see the movie screen. The location will be a covered one to the left of the Merry-go-Round (see map) http://beachboardwalk.com/VisitorMap.pdf Because their Pepsi night promo starts at 5:00pm, they ask that we arrive between 4:00-4:30 to avoid the crowds at the main ticket booth and to stay until the movie is over and the crowd has thinned. We will be escorted onto and off of the Boardwalk through Entrance 3 by their Operations staff. I'll be going over either today or tomorrow to meet with a Boardwalk rep and to check the location out to see how many cars they can accommodate. I understand this is a bit of a late notice and also a far drive for some of you and it will also be a late evening. I just wanted you all to know just in case you can make it. OK. The Boardwalk is very excited to have us all there Wednesday night. We have a confirmed space for up to 4 cars. So far we have mine, Kyle's and if I can't twist either of my son's arm to take their car, Mark has volunteered to drive their car there. I'm still waiting on confirmation from Tim, who is getting his car looked at. Looking forward to a great evening.

We have our 4 cars confirmed. We will meet at the Santa Cruz County Building 701 Ocean Street at 4:15 sharp then drive over to the Boardwalk together. We'll have 3 local cars and a new member driving down from Santa Rosa. Kevin will be bringing his multimedia equipment and may end up doing a story for Santa Cruz Patch, just like he did for Scotts Valley and the Cops N' Rodders car show. It was a great evening at the Boardwalk last night and we had allot of interest in our cars. It was cool to show all, especially the kids that the car really does exist and was just not another made up movie prop. The staff and security provided excellent care in preparing the location and escorting us on and off the crowded Boardwalk.
