And consider pulling the wheels when you want to really clean them. Set them down, waist-high, on a table with a garden sprayer with water in it. Then use some spray wheel cleaner and decent tools/towels, making it a rewarding 1 hour job. It also allows you to clean the inside of the wheel as well as have a good look at your brakes and suspension all around while you're at it.
At the same time, I do agree that the wheel design itself is among the tougher ones to deal with, although not as bad as the mid-80's BMW-style web-type wheels. Ouch!! LINK: BMW wheel

Hey I have the same thing.
I have made trips to delorrean service center in Belgium, DMC ED, and it all runs great. but later there is trouble.
I learned the following; start the car, and stay on position for 3 minites keeping it idle. Gently let the engine get warmer, after a few minutes the problem is GONE!
Still do not know why this happens, if you do, please let me know I want to know why this happens.
