Thanks, Jan, it all comes together now. I did the electrics, the subwoofer and the headliners a few years back. And now the seats, the carpets, the dynamat and the binnacle (including new flexible printboard) are getting done. I got fresh floor mats. New window motors are on the workbench. Only things left untouched now are the steering wheel, and the cracked windscreen (which was already cracked when i bought the car in '99). She's going to be SO fine.

That what it's been like to actually get to own one of these cars turns out to be very, very different from what you dreamt it would be.

That I can't get out without kicking my turn signal stalk. Sooner or later I'm gonna break it, I know it...

I just realized that mine is bent forward about 10-15 degrees. The wiper stalk on the right is normal. I wonder if it's from the PO bending it on purpose or if at some point it got caught on a person's leg and pushed forward. It has made using the indicators a little more difficult since it's further to reach.
I'm hesitant to bend it back in fear of the thin wall tube just breaking off.

My binnacle. Yes, it seems trivial since it is purely cosmetic, but the massive crack I have annoys me to no end. I don't care for the leather look of wrapped alternatives which has left me with few options. Can't wait for my stevie67cars handmade binnacle to arrive.
