    Body bolts

While removing my carpets I checked the body bolts and found they aren't as tight as they could be.

I put a 1/2 ratchet on the bolt and holding the ratchet right next to the socket (no leverage) I was able to easily get ~1/8 turn. I'm sure I could tighten them much more, but would first like to know what the best practice is.

If I'm reading the right spec, it's 23 Ft Lbs. Should I just leave 'em alone?

When they are loose, they make all kinds of creaking and popping noises. I just gunned mine down with the impact wrench.

That's a very good way to break the cages that hold the nuts in place. Hope you never want to get the body off.

I agree with Dave. Do you realize that those are caged square nuts, not welded nuts/inserts?
