Back on May 9, I sent an order to Josh at DPI by mail.
Unfortunately, his website doesn’t accept international order yet.
Anyway, he sent me an answer on May 12. He just has to verify one more thing about shipping.
    Everything was fine so far.
Nevertheless, since then I didn’t receive any answer from him?
I sent back many email and messages through his Facebook page.
I know he hurt his legs a few weeks ago, so I can easily understand he has something else to do.
On the other hand, I just saw he opened a new facility, so maybe he does not have time to answer to his customer?
The thing is he keep posting messages on here and Facebook, so I was wondering why he doesn’t want to give me an answer about my shipping; I just want to hear news from him, nothing more.
I can say I am a little worry now. Is there anyone else in that case since these past few days?
Maybe he will be able to see my message here and tell me what is going on?

josh was banged up pretty badly in his "golf cart incident" so he might still be partially down for the count.

no need to worry about josh doing the right thing. If I had to guess, the timing of his accident right before DCS and his open house probably has him upside down right now.

Did you use email or a PM on this site? Sometimes the PM gets full (300 PMs, 150 inbox and 150 outbox). It's pretty easy get that problem and then he will not see any new PMs.

I get a lot of PMs and emails and sometimes I confuse one sender with another (same first name).

Domi, Sorry for the delayed response. i thought I had mentioned that I was waiting on our latest batch of oil pan gaskets. I will have this out to you at the beginning of the week and send over a paypal invoice shortly.

As Tony has noted I had a bit of an accident. The details are ridiculous and for those wondering I wasn't screwing around. I have way to much going on to become completely incapacitated. I have sworn off racing and anything else I enjoy in an effort to focus on this business. Despite these life changing efforts I still had a turn of bad luck.

The good news is that despite massive injuries I was back on my feet in record time. At first I thought I would be hanging from a harness above cars unable to walk for six weeks. Thankfully I treated the injuries properly within the first 48 hours which sped the recovery.

For those interested in what happened:

Golf cart full of kids at top of hill

Kids screwing around bumped pedal by throwing kid brother onto accelerator.

I was about ten feet away at the time with Carla and friends.

I jumped on the back of the cart and began "delicately" tossing bodies from the out of control cart.

Unfortunately the owners of the cart modified the governor the day before with the help of a local Delorean mechanic......

At the bottom of the hill was a body of water, large rocks and oak trees. I was three for three in this part.

Best estimates from onlookers put the cart at about 20mph when it hit the rocks. I was ejected violently from the back of the cart hitting a oak tree dislocating my right shoulder and a concussion.

Next the cart flipped air born. yeah this is where it gets ugly..... I came back down with my left leg becoming entangled in the rear of the cart. As we flipped down the hill side to the lake I received massive abrasions down my left and right legs, dislocated ankle and a hair line fracture down the top of my foot.

Acting fast was the crucial part in all of this. While waiting for the ambulance and slightly coming out of shock I approved a doctor friend to perform field treatment. If I had waited until making it to the ER the tendons and nerves would have continued to swell with the joints dislocated. This would have increased the chance of further damage during repairs and lengthen the down time. I wasn't about to have any of that. Taking the risk that our best guess was that my ankle was only dislocated and not shattered we put that back in first. I don't remember the shoulder as I went into shock at this point.

I regained my ability to be combative after the oxygen wore off from the ride in. I told the attending (poor young woman) that I was fine and that I was walking out. She turned her back thinking they had me drugged enough that I wasn't going anywhere. Their mistake! I made it to the end of the bed, threw myself off and put full weight onto my left leg. I immediately collapsed knocking over a bed pan jug all over the place from five minutes earlier passing out again. So I woke up covered in my own piss now strapped to the bed getting X rays. All alone in a dark room on a Saturday night with a cute little blonde. Apparently they are not aloud to tell you the results of what they see. So I proceeded to turn on the charm and developed a solution. One nod was all clear two something was wrong. I received the two nods.

    The aftermath and recovery:

The doctor proceeded to tell me the damage. Followed by you will be down for four to six weeks minimum but due to the location of the hair line fracture casting isn't possible. When I could put pressure on the foot without pain it was safe to do so. I nodded and said thank you and waited for her to leave. Turned to Carla and said F this noise I will be walking in two days. She looked at me and I could see it in her eyes that despite expert medical advise she believed me.

Spent the entire following day with my legs elevated and iced constantly. yes this is against suggestion but I trust my doc friends more than anyone else medically. The pain was unbelievable and they had me on enough pain killers to put a horse down. Intent on not missing anything I was walking somewhat safely again intermittent use of crutches within one day. If I lost balance and hit the floor I reached my objective via crawling. Due to the level of medication I was on at that point the call was made to miss the Canada trip as operating heavy machinery was out of the question. It is one thing to risk my own life working in the shop but another to drive and risk lives of others. So far this is the only obligation I have missed but will make it up asap.

Three out of four orthopedic specialists insisted on immediate surgery due to tendon damage on my ankle. The forth who I saw yesterday said that I made the right call by keeping it wrapped constantly. Surgery is not required and I have full motion of the joint.

So in conclusion I have successfully beat all odds recovering from a near fatal combination of injuries that would have incapacitated most for an extended period of time. Carla referred to Tuesday morning as my Niki Lauda moment. In pain beyond belief I managed to put my red wing boots on both of my feet and stand up on my own. I'm not getting into divine intervention or other theories but leave on this note. My absolute resolve to complete my goals in life were the best treatment possible along with close support from those around me. I refuse to stop or give up under any circumstance. In the words of W W "I still have work to do."

See you all at DCS! I will be fully caught up with everyone by the middle of next week on orders and service updates.

On top of everything that he's been through, and he's still sticking to his weight loss goals - now there's a committed Weight Watchers (W W, right?) participant. Dieting would honestly be the last thing on my mind in such a situation.

Man, after reading that, Josh - I wanted to just run through a wall on pure adrenaline. Wow, man.

Actual snippet of a conversation from Sept 2013:

Me: Eddie, I can't wait to get the car back when you're done with it.

Eddie: Yeah, you'll be able to give the car gas, and it won't be - like - embarrassing....

    Hi Josh

Sorry for misunderstood. In your email, you said you had to verify about the size of the gasket and the box for shipping.
I didn't understand you were out of them and needed for another batch.
Anyway, thank you very much for your answer, I just created a thread because I was thinking I had trouble with your email.

On the other hand, I hope you recover well from your injury
    Take Care

Hi Josh, I don't know if you received my last two e-mail?
Like I said, if you still didn't receive the oil pan gaskets, just delete it from my order.
Please keep me update or send me the paypal invoice without the oil pan gaskets.
I will take it later when it will be available.
    Thanks for your understanding.
