Love it, man it would have been nice if the Delorean had an optional box where you could select the turbo lotus engine

I don't always drive cars, but when I do, I prefer DeLoreans

No-one is to stone anyone, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "carburetor"

The V8s are monster cars, but just not 'Esprit' to me. I've grown up around Lotus cars; my father collected Elans, Europas, and Esprits; so to me, Lotus is light weight, with a four cylinder engine.
And honestly, my '87 Esprit is plenty fast enough for the street. I like big numbers as much as the next guy, but when there's so much power that you can't use a fraction of it outside of the track, then it gets stupid.

The later Lotus Esprits had more refinements with the S4s being the penultimate Lotus Esprit with a 4 cylinder motor. There is a lot to be said for the later V-8's but I agree they got away from the core principles Lotus held for years to do the V-8's. Lotus's company motto was to "add lightness". you see this happen in most cars. Look at Jags. The earliest XKE's were always the fastest. As the car aged they just kept adding things and making it heavier and more expensive. After the Lotus Esprit Lotus returned to their core and made the Elise. That thing is an overgrown go cart made for the track and is barely street legal. But is it is a LOT of fun if you can fit into it! A couple of things the V-8's still have in common with all other Lotus's, they are very finicky, prone to break down often and are EXPENSIVE to fix.
